Well, if you're reading this post, that means we made it to the end of September, and with that, we have a full song written, recorded and mixed!
I have two videos for you today, with some mix tips and comments on my own personal song - The Stars Aligned. I'll also embed the Bandcamp track here for your listening pleasure.
It wasn't easy to get to this point, but I'm happy with how the song turned out! My song in particular wasn't only about challenging myself to write an instrumental. It's also for a really good cause.
My sister and sister in law are walking to end breast cancer. All of the proceeds for my song will go to them. Making music, and hopefully making a difference at the same time.
That's why I chose Bandcamp as where I'd sell the track, because you can pay as little as a dollar or more for it. I hope you will!
Listen with headphones or crank it up loud on your speakers!
If you want to look back on the other weeks, or if you're just starting out (if you're reading this in the future!) week one we sparked ideas and chose our key and quality, trying to get our rhythm down. In week 2 we focused on writing leads and playing over the changes. We made sure all our leads were written before week 3 where I showed you how to set up a session and start recording.
And this week is all about mixing the song and putting it up for sale on Bandcamp. If you have a PayPal account, it's super easy and free to set up an account and start selling music with these guys. I wrote a post a little while back about why you should.
Stay tuned next week when I'll put up The Stars Aligned as a jamtrack for you to practice over!
Thanks for joining me on this challenge, it's been a lot of fun!
