I geek out about custom, well crafted made things. Objects where you can feel the quality, know it’s one of a kind, and that’ll last you a lifetime. The other thing that is of the utmost importance to me, is that the company I’m dealing with has great customer service.
StrapGraphics is a guitar strap manufacturer that’s been making straps in the U.S. since 2008. They’re based out of Portland, and offer a range of straps that are incredibly customizable. When I’m talking about great customer service, I’m talking about Nate from SG, who helped me along with the process, and was a breeze to deal with.
StrapGraphics sent me two awesome leather straps - one that’s a bit wider with the Chasing Sound logo all over it, and one in a more traditional size, with my last name. While these are both leather, SG also offers polyester straps as well. One of the most interesting things, is that the company has a strap designer right on their website that allows you to customize the strap with colors, upload your own graphics, and even use AI generated images, to come up with something that’s unique to your style.
When I first took these straps out of the box, I could tell instantly that they were made well, and that they didn’t skimp out on the leather that they used. On top of that, the customization on the front of the straps was vibrant and looked well put together (if you look on the SG website, some of the more wild and colorful designs are really eye-popping). Everything about these straps, down to the stitching, was of quality.
In the past I’ve always gone with the same black or brown straps for the most part, for a number of my guitars. With these StrapGraphics straps, the sky is truly the limit. You’ll have a strap that’ll last you a long time, and you’ll be able to show off your own style by coming up with something interesting.
For me, I’m going to immediately place the smaller strap on my Fender 50’s Tele, and the wider strap makes sense for my 7 string PRS Mark Holcomb, that really needs a little bit more stabilization, and benefits from that extra width on the strap.
Another thing that I have to point out about the leather straps is that because you have that plain leather backing, the straps stay in place, so you don’t have to worry about your guitar moving around on stage unless you want it to. This is without a doubt one of the benefits of these types of straps. And we haven’t even talked about how comfortable they are! I used each strap for a couple of days during my practice sessions, and felt great after using them. You never think something like a strap would make a big difference, but whether you’re practicing or playing live, it definitely does.
So head over to StrapGraphics.com and let Nate know that Brian from Chasing Sound sent ya! While I did receive these straps for free, I intend to buy more straps from StrapGraphics down the line, because they're just that good, and I love supporting businesses right here in the U.S. Customize your own, and let me know what you think about them. Another shout to Guitar Noise, who made the connection between SG and I - always appreciate collaborating!
