Recently I did a post on how to learn all 5 pentatonic scale boxes. If you don’t know the box shapes, you should go check out that video and then try using the shapes for all different keys.
One question that comes up time and time again from my guitar students after they’ve learned these shapes is how can they move from one box to another. They always feel stuck in one pattern. Today’s video, which you can check out below, uses all 5 box patterns in one big riff!
You’d be surprised how much of the neck you can cover using simple slides, hammer-ons and pull offs. This riff encompasses all of those techniques. Once you learn the riff in the video, try transposing it to different keys.
